Kathryn Ando, PA-C, PhD, MPA
Kathryn Ando, PA-C, PhD, MPA: Beginning my journey in women’s health and human sexuality in 2005, I started in San Francisco, pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. Along the way, I had the privilege of collaborating with various groups within the sexual community, such as San Francisco Sex Information, the Society of Janus, and serving on the Board of Directors for The Center for Sex and Culture. During this time, I had the opportunity to learn from some greats in sexology, including Carol Queen, Betty Dodson, and Jack Morim, which has shaped my understanding of the connection between sexual health and medicine.
From there I joined Project Prepare, where I saw firsthand the importance of integrating sexual health into medical care. To broaden my clinical skills, I completed the physician assistant program at Stanford University and have been practicing in medicine since 2013.
With a blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience, I've become deeply involved in women's sexual health. My aim is to create safe spaces where individuals can freely explore their desires and challenges without judgment. Through my work, I hope to challenge societal stigmas and break down barriers that hold women back from fully embracing their sexuality.
