OWCP & Federal Workers

OWCP & Federal Workers

Is NuThera an OWCP-enrolled provider?

Yes. NuThera is enrolled with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) and accepts federal workers' compensation for treatment of accepted conditions at both Southern Nevada locations.

Can I choose NuThera as my OWCP doctor?

Yes. Under FECA, federal employees with OWCP claims have the right to choose their treating physician. You can select NuThera on your CA-1 or CA-2 form, or change providers during the course of treatment.

What should I bring to my first OWCP visit?

Your OWCP claim number, a copy of your CA-1 or CA-2, any CA-16 authorization, any authorization letters from OWCP or a nurse case manager, a government-issued photo ID, current medication list, and any prior medical records or imaging related to the injury.

Do I need authorization before my first OWCP visit?

Most OWCP services require authorization. Our administrative team verifies your claim status, confirms which conditions OWCP has accepted, and coordinates authorization before or at your first visit so treatment isn't delayed.

Will I have out-of-pocket costs for OWCP care?

For services related to conditions accepted by OWCP, there are generally no out-of-pocket costs — OWCP is billed directly. We'll review billing expectations with you before treatment if any services fall outside your claim's accepted conditions.

Appointments & Scheduling

Appointments & Scheduling

How do I request an appointment?

You can request an appointment by calling (725) 726-7914 during business hours or by completing the secure intake form on our Contact page. Our team responds within one business day — often the same day.

How soon can I be seen?

New patient availability varies by service and provider. OWCP and acute injury patients are typically seen within several business days. Call us directly for the fastest scheduling.

Which location should I go to?

Both clinics offer our full range of services. Choose the location most convenient for you — 5495 S. Rainbow Blvd. in Las Vegas or 3880 W. Ann Rd. in North Las Vegas. If you have a specific provider preference, ask when scheduling and we'll confirm their primary location.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please call at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. For OWCP and workers' compensation patients, late cancellations can delay claim timelines — we work with you to reschedule quickly when unavoidable.

Billing & Insurance

Billing & Insurance

What insurance do you accept?

We accept OWCP federal workers' compensation, DOL programs including EEOICPA, Nevada state workers' compensation (CCMSI, Sedgwick, Liberty Mutual, and others), and most major commercial health insurance plans. Call us to verify your specific plan before scheduling.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes, we accept Medicare and most Medicare Advantage plans for our primary care and injury recovery services.

What about self-pay patients?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA (Health Savings Accounts), FSA (Flexible Spending Accounts), and Afterpay (4 interest-free installments) for self-pay services.

Will you verify my benefits before my visit?

Yes. Our billing team verifies coverage, confirms accepted OWCP conditions where applicable, and identifies any authorizations needed before your first visit so there are no billing surprises.

Privacy & Forms

Privacy & Forms

Is my information secure?

Yes. NuThera operates under full HIPAA compliance. Our intake forms are processed through a HIPAA-compliant system with a signed Business Associate Agreement. We do not accept medical records or protected health information via unencrypted email.

How do I submit intake forms?

After you request an appointment, our team sends you secure links to the forms appropriate for your visit type. Please complete them through the secure portal — not by email or fax — unless our staff specifically directs otherwise.

Can I request a copy of my medical records?

Yes. Contact our administrative team at admin@nuthera.us or by phone to request records. We'll provide the forms required under HIPAA for records release and process requests in accordance with federal and Nevada state law.

Clinical Questions

Clinical Questions

Do you provide physical therapy on-site?

Yes. Licensed physical therapists are part of our core clinical team. PT is available at both locations and coordinated with medical care under one treatment plan.

Do you prescribe weight loss medications?

When clinically appropriate, yes — including GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide. Our medical weight management program includes a clinical evaluation, lab work, and ongoing supervision rather than medication alone.

Is NuThera accepting new patients?

Yes. We are currently accepting new patients across all service lines at both locations. Call us or submit the contact form to start.

What should I do in a medical emergency?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. NuThera is an outpatient practice — we do not provide 24/7 emergency coverage. For urgent non-emergency concerns during business hours, call (725) 726-7914.
