What "accepted" means in OWCP.
Under OWCP, each condition on your claim has to be individually accepted by the Department of Labor. A single injury event can involve several conditions, and OWCP may accept some and deny others.
For example: a fall at work could produce a lumbar strain, a shoulder labral tear, and post-traumatic anxiety. OWCP might accept the lumbar strain and shoulder injury immediately but require additional documentation before accepting the psychological component. Our providers document all related conditions so nothing gets left out of your claim by default.
Conditions that are accepted are covered — including medical treatment, medications, physical therapy, durable medical equipment when clinically necessary, and wage replacement while you're out of work. Conditions that are denied aren't covered unless the denial is overturned.
