Michael Plaza is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant whose clinical work centers on the intersection of orthopedic recovery and balance. He came to NuThera from ATI Physical Therapy, where he delivered post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation in an outpatient setting, and from FYZICAL Therapy & Balance, where he focused on vestibular care — benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, dizziness, and the balance deficits that follow head and neck injury.
That vestibular training matters more than it might appear for federal workers' compensation. Concussion and whiplash cases routinely produce dizziness and balance impairment that standard orthopedic rehab does not address, and those deficits are frequently what keep someone from returning to duty. Michael treats them directly, alongside the manual therapy, joint mobilization, and therapeutic exercise that make up conventional injury recovery.
He holds an Associate of Occupational Sciences in Physical Therapist Assistant studies from PIMA Medical Institute and an Associate of Applied Science from Elgin Community College, and is licensed by the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy. His clinical experience spans post-operative joint replacement and repair — knee, hip, and shoulder — neurological rehabilitation including stroke, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis, and gait and mobility retraining across the full age range.
